Description
This camel-colored yarn skein is 70% alpaca fleece and 30% merino, and it comes from the alpaca Laura from Foster’s Trail & Alpaca Farm in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Alpaca yarn is:
- Warmer than sheep’s wool
- Not prickly
- Hypoallergenic
- Naturally elastic (great for knitting!)
- Water-repellent
- Fire resistant
- Lightweight
- Low impact on the environment
- Excellent for cold weather (warms even when wet) or warm (resistant to solar heat)
In the ancient Incan Empire, alpaca wool was called “the fiber of the gods”. Alpacas are “camelids”, being very similar to camels. While 90% of the world’s alpaca fiber comes from Peru, this fiber comes from the United States of America.
Alpaca fiber comes naturally in 22 different colors, with over 300 shades available! This one was picked just for you.
